| Main Everest FAQ | ||
| What Is Everest? |
Everest is an authoring system you can try on your computer for free. Everest is specifically designed to meet the special demands of CBT, WBT and distance learning. Everest is a software tool that helps you create those teaching materials. Related link: The World is an Authoring System
| What is CBT? |
CBT is computer-based training, that is, training delivered via a computer. Want to teach a large group of people how to use a new software application? Operate a eletrical generation power plant? Properly complete a tax form? You can do it with CBT, and for less cost than other forms of training. Everest helps you create that CBT.
| What is WBT? |
WBT (web-based training) and distance learning are CBT delivered over the Internet or an intranet. Everest lets you develop your training materials once, then deliver them anywhere via diskette, CD-ROM, intranet, and the Internet. Related link: Using Everest to deliver distance learning
| How Does Everest Help Me Create CBT/WBT? |
Everest employs an easily understood page and book metaphor. Authors
drag and drop content icons (image, text, multimedia, interaction, etc.)
onto pages, and link the pages into book form. It's easy with Everest's
visual authoring environment. (Click screen shot for a larger view.)

| How Can I Tell if I Need a CBT Authoring System? |

| What About Complex Projects? Simulations? |
Go beyond the icons if you need with A-pex3, Everest's built-in programming language. Plus, you can extend Everest with snap-on components for databases, device control, DLLs, etc. More snap-on components exist for Everest than for any other authoring system. | How Do End-Users (trainees) View What I Create? |
Everest's ERUN program plays back the projects you create. You send your project to the end-user via diskette, CD-ROM, email, or post it on your Web site. End-users employ the Everest ERUN program to display your project on their computer. ERUN can collect user names, scores, bookmarks and other data for recordkeeping and validation purposes.
